WEBApr 24, 2020. #6. I recently shot an old expired roll of 120 Verichrome Pan, and discovered that all that exposure info was printed on the paper leader. Of course modern films don't do that any more, but I suspect it was to support all those old Kodak meterless box cameras. I've seen a few new 35mm boxes that have that info, but non are Kodak.

It's an odd bird, with peculiar styling that makes it look like a Shoebill Stork compared to the sophisticated German style of the early Retina cameras. Its heavy, and strange, and you'll need to learn to respool 120 to 620, but its a breeze once you've done it a couple of times.

WEBNov 1, 2010 · At regular intervals along the edge of the film you will see a film number of the form 52XX. For example Eastman Double-X is 5222. If you don't see one then develop a bit more film. Kodak publishes a list of numbers on the web to identify film based on the number. Go to their website and search for the number.

It just so happens that shutter speeds listed on cameras and aperture stops work this way as well. The difference between, say, 1/125 and 1/60 is that 1/60 lets in twice as much light.

A 120 roll can have 8, 9, 10, 12, 15 or 16 exposures on it, depending on the camera. The two sets of numbers allow one to differentiate the shots no matter what format was shot.

But then when I developed my own black and white shot using Fuji Acros Neopan 100, I saw the same problem. Then I thought maybe it was from freezing my film.
