I have the original Kuru Toga (the translucent black with green highlights) and not the "Advance" model but it works excellently. Comparing to a non-self-sharpening, it's night and day the difference after a sentence of words. A typical mech pencil starts to become blunt and ugly, while the Kuru Toga remains crisp the entire time.
