Much like their onscreen counterparts, Robert Downey Jr. left quite the impression on Tom Holland. The Spider-Man actor recently recalled a gesture by MCU co-star that was “so great and so sweet” during his first day of filming Captain America: Civil War (2016) with Downey Jr.

Tom Holland appeared on the “Rich Roll Podcast” and remembered how Robert Downey Jr. stepped up on his behalf during his first time filming as Spider-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Holland debuted as Peter Parker/Spider-Man in 2016’s “Captain America: Civil War.

Holland and Downey had killer chemistry throughout their appearances together in the MCU, including Civil War, Spider-Man: Homecoming, and Avengers: Infinity War. And it sounds like that began in the audition room before it extended to an actual film set, with Holland sharing that the Oscar-winning actor helped give him freedom to improvise.
