Just before 5:30 a.m., on Monday, police were called to a hit-and-run call at 1193 Lee St SW. When officers arrived, they found a 30-year-old woman who had been hit by a vehicle.

A woman in a wheelchair was killed in Fairmount Park early Tuesday morning in yet another hit-and-run, police said, the latest in a recent string of such crashes that have left several people dead and investigators searching for the drivers.

The victim died at the scene, Norfolk Police said. The road reopened at 12:45 BST. Officers appealed for any witnesses, or anyone who saw the Fiat being driven in the moments before the crash, to contact them.
