Winds in Northern California have reached up to 65 miles per hour, leading to dangerous fire conditions with extremely dry air.

Pacific Gas and Electric (PG&E) shut off power in 19 counties in northern and central California due to the escalating risk of wildfires sparked by the "diablo wind," known for its hot, dry gusts in the autumn.

During a diablo wind, the air is so dry that relative humidity levels plunge, drying out vegetation and making it ready to burn.
